Friday's 15th Challenge !!!

We are so tickled to have Viola's Boutique as our prize sponsor this week !!

Viola's is an Etsy shop that offers gorgeous hand crocheted appliques and accessories - perfect for all of your papercrafting projects and more! Viola's Boutique is sending our winner crocheted heart appliques or small flowers for their next craft projects. Please support our sponsor by visiting Viola's Boutique today.

Our final three designers have something special for you !!

Suzy
Suzy loved this challenge! She went to Hawaii in 2006 and is still adding to that scrapbook :) They snorkeled in a reef, climbed waterfalls and hiked a volcano - so lots to choose from! She decided to do a scrapbook page for the beginning of her lava hike pictures. Visit her blog to see a tutorial on how she made this volcano!

Tracy
Living on the Gulf Coast, Tracy has a love for all things connected to the ocean, so she chose her inspiration from the Great Barrier Reef. She layered a beautiful conch shell image on some pretty coral colors and added some pearls and a little seam binding bow. Just for some fun she added a few pieces of her seashell collection for the photo.

Steph
Steph D. was inspired to create this card by the beautiful colors and wispy streams of color of the Northern Lights.

Three very diverse interpretations, and all just gorgeous.

Link up your submissions between now and noon Saturday, and don't forget to come back and vote for your two favorites !!

Thursday's Challenge 15 Inspiration !

Welcome to Thursday and more of our 15th Challenge ! Today we have Caroline, Catherine and Christy with their 7 wonders of the world ideas.

We are so pleased to announce - Our People's Choice Award Winner sponsor for this week is Viola's Boutique. !!!

Viola's Boutique is sending our winner crocheted heart appliques or small flowers for their next craft projects. Please support our sponsor by visiting Viola's Boutique today.

Catherine
For challenge 15, Catherine specifically chose the Northern Light as her inspiration. You can see so many different colors when you look at pictures of the Northern Lights. The greens, blues, and purples fit perfectly for her inspiration, and to complete a bridal portrait layout. Check her blog for all the Pink Paislee supplies she used for her layout.

Christy
Christy got a wonderful chance to reminisce about her trip to the Grand Canyon a few years back for Challenge #15. Using lots of neutral colors and minimal embellishments keeps the focus on the beautiful scenery in the pictures. The Grand Canyon is a true marvel!

Caroline
This week Caroline used the northern lights as her inspiration for this challenge. Caroline said that every time she saw information on the northern lights there was a shade of purple and the most brilliant colors. Caroline played off those images and made this winter card.

Tomorrow we have our final three - Tracy, Steph and Suzi ! Be sure to check back for their cool projects and ideas.

Link up your submissions now through Saturday Noon (Eastern), and then get to voting !!

Challenge 15 - Opens !

Happy Wednesday, and welcome to Papercraft Star's 15th challenge !!

This week our challenge is based on one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Grand Canyon
The Great Barrier Reef
The Harbor at Rio de Janeiro
Mt. Everest
Northern Lights
Paricutin Volcano
Victoria Falls

Choose one, and base your card or layout on your interpretation of this incredible wonder of our earth. This is one unusual challenge, and should generate some very interesting ideas !!

Our People's Choice Award Winner sponsor for this week is Viola's Boutique. Viola's is a unique Etsy shop that offers gorgeous hand crocheted appliques and accessories - perfect for all of your papercrafting projects and more! Viola's Boutique is sending our winner crocheted heart appliques for their next craft projects. Please support our sponsor by visiting Viola's Boutique today.

We are so pleased to announce our guest designer for this week - Catherine Pooler. !! You may have seen Catherine's beautiful creations here in past weeks as a participant, and as a sponsor. Today she shares with us a Northern Lights card, and some information about herself.

Catherine Pooler

I am so excited to be the guest designer this week for Papercraft Star! I found this challenge site during one of their first weeks and have participated in most challenges along the way. I love the varied challenges to get me inspired and the advance notice of challenges!

This week was fun for me, because my children just went on a trip to Niagara Falls…but none of my papercrafting goodies called to me for that particular wonder. For the Northern Lights, I immediately thought of the baby wipe technique! Fun techniques like this are like being in grade school again.

I have been a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator for 7 years and I feel so blessed to be able to papercraft for my job! How fun is that? I would love for you to visit my blog and become a newsletter subscriber!

Here is Wednesday's Papercraft Star design team challenge projects !

Jan
The Northern Lights are one wonder that Jan has actually seen. She chose a winter scene to create a glittery Christmas card with nontraditional colors.
Regan
Regan found inspiration from and based her layout on the Grand Canyon. The pattern and colors from her photos of the Grand Canyon gave her inspiration to create the fun torn landscape at the bottom of her page. For more photos and a supply list, please visit her blog.

Liz
Liz used the colours of the Grand Canyon as her inspiration for this week's challenge. She created a simple layout of Uluru using Basic Grey paper.

Link up your submissions now. The challenge is open until Saturday noon (Eastern Time), and voting begins immediately thereafter.

We are really looking forward to seeing what you have created to fit this challenge ! Tomorrow's team of Caroline, Christy and Catherine will have some more ideas for you, be sure to come back for their projects !!!

Friday's Inspiration !

Welcome to Friday's fabulous cards from Tracy, Steph and Suzi !

Our sponsor all week has been Sunnygrl's Fun Shoppe. We are so excited to be giving away a digi kit to our first place winner ! If you are looking for kits for the fall or Christmas seasons, check this out. If you haven't tried digi yet, you are gonna love it !!

Our Friday team has been so busy cooking up this "recipe" - have a look !!

Tracy

For this week's recipe challenge Tracy created her card with lots of different textures. Embossed lines and Swiss dots for the background, layered and inked punched flowers with button centers for the focal point, and some hemp twine with a pretty heart charm make for a sweet little pick me up card.

Steph

Steph D. created this vintagey card using this week's fun Simon Says card recipe. She used some "vintage" designer papers along with real vintage coconut shell buttons along with a lot of distress ink.

Suzy

Suzy created an elegant wedding card for this week's recipe challenge. She inked her scorelines on the gray patterned mat and added die cut flowers made with textured cardstock. Believe it or not, she has not tried twine (yet!) - so she substituted lace. Sometimes you have to do that with recipes, when you don't have the right ingredients ;)

Link up your submissions between now and noon Saturday, when voting begins. Our design team had a lot of fun with this week's challenge - we know you will too !!

AND, stop by our message boards for tutorials, help and fun conversation! Hope to see you there !!

Thursday's Design Inspiration

Hi ! It's Thursday and Dawn, Christy and Catherine are following the same recipe as yesterday's designers, with some fun ideas for your own creations !

Our sponsor this week is Sunnygrl's Fun Shoppe - and a digi kit from them for first place ! Be sure you stop over and check out all her cute things.

Here are today's design team contributions !!

Dawn

For this challenge, Dawn used the directions; and some inspiration from our last challenge as far as color goes. She had a really tough time not straying from the directions and explained it as 'simple, but cute with a few exceptions to the rules'. Check out her blog for details and a supply list.

Christy

Using a Just Because sentiment, Christy put together this bright and cheery card for Challnege #14. She made spiral flowers using her circle punches and used buttons as the flower base. Topping it off she added twine as the stems of the flowers.

Catherine

Catherine really enjoyed participating in this challenge! Such a fun idea, Simon Says! So, she followed along and this is the card she created. These are some excellent fall colors also! Check her log for all the supplies she used!

You have until noon on Saturday to link up your submissions. We are all looking forward to seeing the results of your "recipe" !!!

Be sure to return tomorrow for more creations from Tracy, Steph and Suzi !!

Challenge 14 - Recipe

Welcome to Papercraft Star's 14th Challenge ! We have had an exciting week here as we reached our current goal of 500 followers!

Our amazing sponsor this week is Sunnygrl's Fun Shoppe with a darling digi kit prize for our 1st place finisher !!
How cute is that! Pop on over and visit, and then come back to link up your submission. Some pretty darned cute stuff there - wow !

Here is our challenge this week -

Simon Says Follow this Recipe:
Make a Card
Base: 5.5 x 5.5
Mat: 5x5
Score Mat 5 times at 1/4 inch
3 Flowers from Die Cut or Punch
3 Buttons and Twine
(You may also add a sentiment or other items as desired)

We are so excited to have a guest designer with us this week too, Laurel Seabrook from wanttoscrap. You have probably seen Laurel's creations all over paper blogland, as well as here at Papercraft Star !!

Laurel

"I am thrilled to be a Guest Designer on Papercraft Star. What a great group of ladies to be designing along side. I like to participate in as many challenges as I can; I not only love them but they help keep the mojo flowing for me! I am passionate about papercrafting and take time to do it everyday. Thanks to the Papercraft Star Team for inviting me and I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this weeks Simon Says challenge."

Laurel

"It is hard to tell, but I did score the card ! I made 5 score lines in the pattern paper and they are under the ribbon and flower. To make the flower I used the Peony Nestabilities die, cut out 3 flowers, spritzed with water, crumpled and layered."

Isn't that gorgeous ! What a treat to have Laurel join us, thank you Laurel !

Liz, Jan, Regan and Caroline really enjoyed this particular challenge ! Let's see what they have for us this week.

Liz

Liz created a 'thank you' card using this week's recipe challenge. She used Tim Holtz Alterations 'Tattered Florals' die cuts to make her layered flower. She used buttons and twine to finish off the card.

Jan

A cheerful get well card from Jan this week for the recipe challenge. She used lots of different products to make this seemingly simple card.

Regan

Regan found this weeks Simon Says challenge to be a lot of fun. She created this fun fall card being careful to only do what Simon said! She chose to layer her 3 flowers to create one larger flower. One of the three buttons was used for the center of her flower, while the other two she used to hang from the ends of her twine. Please visit her blog for more details.

Caroline

Caroline loved this Simon Says challenge. She created this get well card and even dyed her twine using alcohol inks for this challenge.

Catherine, Christy and Dawn will be here tomorrow with their recipe cards - be sure to check then !

Link up your submissions below ! The challenge begins today, and ends on Saturday at noon. Voting closes Monday night at midnight. You will have a lot of fun with this one !!

Friday Inspiration Challenge 13

We have our final 3 designer inspirations for you today and they are sure to please! Here is another look at our sketch for this weeks challenge, created by our own Beth Moore.

Tracy

Tracy loves to scrap heritage photos from her huge collection of family treasures. Using the sketch challenge, she created her page using some doilies and several chipboard pieces for added embellishments. She handcut all the banner pieces and stamped and embossed them. There's tons of texture on this layout from artist canvas letters to embossed chipboard.

Suzy

Suzy adapted this sketch to make a fall card. She used Basic Grey's Indian Summer collection and kraft cardstock. Her favorite part about it is the stitched ribbon!

Steph D.

Steph D. created this "happy fall" card using this week's wonderful sketch. She also drew on the inspiration of the upcoming season, using the warm colors and seasonal finds.

We also have our wonderful sponsor for this weeks challenge, Catherine Pooler.
Catherine is giving out a fabulous prize for the People's Choice Award winner for this challenge - One Free Month of Club InBox! Thursday's Inspiration Challenge 13

Today we have Catherine, Christy and Dawn with some great layouts for you. These are sure to inspire you too!

Catherine

For this week's challenge, Catherine chose to complete a layout for her wedding album, getting her one page closer finishing this special album. Growing up with three sisters was a great experience, they are all so very important to her. So, she had to complete a page that focused on only her sisters! What a fun sketch to use. Check out her blog for all the details.

Christy

Christy found this sketch incredibly fun to work with.  The beauty of sketches it that they force you to step out of a place you may be too comfortable in, and stretch you to try things that are new.  This layout captures just one of the many days she got to spend with her kids at the beach this summer building castles in the sand.

Dawn

For our sketch this week, Dawn used some bright colors to match our sketch. Our funky sketch inspired her to be a little wacky for this layout. You can see closeups and a supply list on her blog.

By the way...  enter our $25.00 gift certificate drawing before September 17, at 12 noon Eastern Time by becoming a follower and clicking right here!   Now for Challenge 13 details...

Challenge 13 begins today and this week's inspiration is a sketch created by our very own Beth Moore. Use the sketch as your inspiration to create any papercraft project you desire and then be sure to enter it at the bottom of this post before Saturday September 18 at 12 noon Eastern time, after that, the voting begins!

The Papercraft Star Creative Team used the sketch to create inspiration for this challenge to get you going on your own project this week.  Today we'll showcase Regan, Jan, Liz, and Caroline's inspiration pieces. Be sure to come back tomorrow and Friday to see even more inspiration from our talented team of designers that also include, Tracy, Steph, Catherine, Christy and Suzy!

Regan

For the challenge this week, Regan used Beth's sketch to go biker! She created this adorable layout of her daughter using the colors black, pink, silver and white! She used zipper trim and attached it with staples to give the layout some edge. By adding black glitter thickers for her title she gave the layout a little sparkle! For her accents throughout the page she used punches making this layout fun and simple! For more information please visit her at Emora Designs.

Jan

Do you hear the rustling leaves at your home yet ? Jan's favorite time of the year is fall. She doesn't scrapbook, so she chose to take only a part of the sketch, and create a fall card. She says she will send this as a thank you card to whomever invites her to a tailgate party first !

Liz

Liz loved working with this sketch, it's perfect for scrapping these gorgeous photos of her daughter. Liz used some lace, hand-made buttons and acetate shapes to embellish her page. Visit her blog for some close ups.

Caroline

This week Caroline used the sketch to make a celebration card. She wanted to showcase the star lillies stamp for this card. With all the dreary weather they've been having in Florida Caroline wanted to create something with a bright and cheerful look to it.

Thanks for stopping by Papercraft Star today to get the details on this fun sketch challenge, we look forward to seeing all of your project entries!  Also, if you haven't subscribed to our Papercraft Star Facebook page yet, you can visit it right here to do so!
