Our Challenge This Week !

Use this photo as inspiration for your project this week.

Our Design Team

Regan
For the challenge this week, Regan pulled the pink and gray colors from the inspiration photo to create this humorous card using the Happy Father's Day set from TradeFish Designs. Regan actually created two cards this week! To see both cards and the inside of this one, please visit her blog Emora Designs.

Jan
Jan's thoughts of summer travel twisted her card this week in that direction!  She used a sentiment from the "Missing You" series of stamps from TradeFish Design.  Please stop by her blog, chai tea 'n me, and say hi !

Kim
Kim used the colors, pink and gray, from the inspirational photo to create a fun and vintage-style greeting card. She even used a seashell and starfish to give it a true beach-like style! The stamped Wish You Were Here sentiment from TradeFish Designs makes this card complete. For a list of supplies, be sure to stop by Kim's blog and say hello.

 Tracy
Tracy used the predominant gray and white colors of the photo inspiration with a tiny bit of pink mixed in on the trout.  She embossed some decorative lines into the white mat for some added interest.  The sentiment is from the "Missing You" stamp set by TradeFish Designs.

Don't forget our tutorial tomorrow, and Kristina's Executive Reveal on Friday !

Link up between now and Sunday, 9pm (Eastern US) to be eligible for our prizes this month !!

Friday's Executive Reveal from Jan !!

Hi Everyone ! Jan here this week with the Executive Reveal !

Our challenge was to use the letters *S*T*A*R* in our project. My card earlier in the week with the design team incorporated that literally. But I used it a little differently with this card.

S = support from my fellow crafters
T = tranquility as I craft
A = artistic aspiration
R = results

Stop by my blog for all the info !   Sentiment from our sponsor this week, TradeFish Designs !!

Thursday's Tutorial from Regan !!

Hi, Regan here! Today is tutorial Thursday and I have a fun tutorial to share with you.

We all use glue dots, tacky tape or tissue tape on our scrappy projects. In this tutorial I will show you how to take the cardboard circle base for your glue dots or tissue tape and turn it in to a cute bracelet!

This is what you will need....
Cardboard circle from used glue dots or tissue tape.
Ribbon of your choice (4 pieces about 1 1/2 long, 1 7-8 inch piece and 1 46 inch piece) These measurements will vary by the size of your cardboard or bracelet piece.
Scissors
Hot Glue Gun and a couple glue sticks
Embellishment(s) of your choice (optional)

Let's get started...
(Click photo to see larger view.)

1) Cut through one side of the cardboard to create the opening of the bracelet.

You may want to bend and manipulate the cardboard to get a shape that will fit your wrist. If the cardboard comes apart a bit, this is okay, we are going to cover it!

2) Glue the small pieces to each end of the bracelet letting the ribbon hang over the edge about 1/8 of an inch. This will cover the ends of your bracelet so you can't see the cardboard. (NOTE: if you have a narrower cardboard piece you may only need 1 ribbon piece for each end.)

3) Take your 7 inch piece and adhere one end like shown in the picture above. (NOTE: if you want the wrapped ribbon to show, skip this step)

4) Take longest ribbon piece and adhere cross ways like the picture above shows.

5) Wrap the ribbon tightly around the cardboard base hot gluing the ribbon down as you go.

6) Take your 8 inch piece and begin adhering across the top of your bracelet. Do not go all the way to the end.

7) Now you will have to alternate adhering the ribbon until you longer piece is flush with the end of the bracelet like shown above.

8) Fold over end of leftover ribbon and adhere to bracelet.

The base of your bracelet is done!
You can leave it as is or embellish it like shown in the photo below.

Aren't these fun!?!
I think they would make an adorable gift and the best part is it's up-cycled!!

Thank you for stopping by for Thursday's tutorial here at Papercraft Star!
Come back by tomorrow to see what our Lovely and Talented Jan has in store for you for the executive design team reveal!

Our Challenge This Week !

Use the letters "S", "T", "A", "R" as inspiration for your project (i.e. "S" for sentiment, "R" for ribbon, etc.,)

Our Design Team

Kim
Kim followed the challenge by creating an all occasion card using a sentiment from Missing You by TradeFish Designs. For "S" she used stitching; for "T" she used trim; "A" an acrylic heart; and "R" for ribbon. For a list of supplies, stop by Kim's blog and be sure to say hello.
Tracy
Tracy used a scallop, trim, alcohol ink, and rhinestones to create her card for this weeks challenge. Her sentiment is from the "Missing You" stamp set from TradeFish Designs.

Regan
For this challenge Regan decided to do something a little different, instead of a card or layout she created this fun award for Father's Day! This can be used as a pin, magnet, topper for a gift or even an embellishment for the special Dad in your life. As far as the challenge this was her letter inspiration: STAR DAD - S: Stamp & Stripes, T: Tim Holtz, A: Adhesive and R: Ribbon. For more please visit her blog Emora Designs.

Beth
Beth has played along with the Design Team all month long in order to help the team feature projects created using our June Design Team sponsor, Tradefish Design's stamps and in an effort to showcase the fun and versatility of these stamps as well. Beth said, "I think there has been a real niche open in the papercrafting world for masculine stamps like those designed and produced by TradeFish Designs and I am thrilled to be a part of showcasing this new product to papercrafters." Beth used the letter S.T.A.R to inspire her when she created this, "You can always use more socks, mugs, ties, underwear and hats card". She used the inspiration letters, S - "Stamps', T - "Twine", A - "Alphas" and R - "Ribbon" to complete this project. You can get a complete supplies list from her blog.

Jan
Jan used clay for her sentiment this week. She thinks she can get away with R for Rivet in her S*T*A*R recipe ! If you haven't used clay before, her blog has details.

Link up between now and Sunday (9pm Eastern US) with your STAR entries !

Tomorrows tutorial is with Regan, and Jan will have Friday's Executive Reveal. See you then !!
