Challenge 10 - Sketch

Hello, and welcome to Papercraft Star's 10th Challenge !

OH, but wait...before we get on with the challenge we want to annouce our Judge's Pick. All of the winners from challenges 7, 8, & 9 were reviewed by our judges and a winner has been chosen. The winner will receive a Judge's Pick button to display on their blog. The winner is Sandi Pressley, with her fabulous holiday card. Congratulations Sandi, please email us so we can send you your button!

Ok back to this week,  our challenge is based on the sketch below designed by our  very own Beth.

Every week our designers surprise themselves and one another with the variety of interpretations one inspirational sketch or photo can bring ! Let's have a look at what Wednesday's designers have created.

Jan

Jan's take on the clean and simple sketch this week is enhanced by an embossed bingo card, and the image of a sweet child.

Regan

Instead of using this weeks challenge for a card, Regan used Beth's sketch to create this beautiful layout of her daughter. She used patterned paper by K&Company, ribbon and Prima to create this darling layout! She inked, distressed and did some tearing to give her project some character! For more photos and details, please visit her blog!

Liz

Clean and Simple is very much Liz's style. She had fun this week creating a clean and simple 'masculine' card. Using some bright colours combined with dark brown as well as inked edges helped to achieve this look.

Caroline

Caroline is so ready for summer to be over with. She lives in HOT HOT HOT Florida so bring on the fall and winter. Since she is ready for a change of season she thought it would be fun to start working on some holiday cards. This week she used the sketch and turned it 90 degrees to create this "sweet" Halloween card.

Our challenge is open right now ! Link up your submissions between today and Saturday 8/28. Voting will begin immediately after submissions close, and will close on Monday 8/30. You now have two votes - one to vote for submissions, and one to vote for our design team.

Friday Inspiration Challenge 9

Welcome back to another day of inspiration for Challenge 9 from our Design Team. We hope you have enjoyed all of the project over the last 3 days. You still have time to get your project linked up before the voting begins on Saturday at  12 Noon Eastern time. Don't forget that the winner of  Challenge 9 not only receives a People's Choice Award button, they will also receive a $10 gift certificate to Papertrey Ink!

Steph D.

Steph D. created this card based on apples and the country theme. She used kraft cardstock, buttons, and trims to get the country feel. The felt flowers resemble the fun ferris wheels at the county fair.

Suzy

Sometimes, you just have to let the pictures tell the story. Suzy kept it simple this week with a 2 page layout about her local 4th of July carnival. She used Bo Bunny's Popsicle for the patterned papers and journaling spot.

Tracy

The great photo inspiration challenge this week inspired Tracy towards balloons and muted colors. She chose to use a Penny Black stamp and color the image with water color pencils. Distress inks and lovely vintagy October Afternoon papers all add to the softness of her card. Some Prima flowers, stitching, frilly Martha Stewart border punches, and bead-studded ribbon round out the card.

Thursday's Challenge 9 Inspiration !

To link up your submission, click here !

Welcome to Thursday's talented trio of designers ! Don't forget we have a $10 prize to Papertrey Ink this week as our prize, courtesy of the executive committee. You do not want to miss out on the chance to win that.

Let's see what our trio has for us today. Good stuff !

Catherine

For challenge 9, Catherine chose to create a card! She thought the muted tones in the Bo Bunny Mama-Razi paper coordinated well with the colors from the photo. She also kept the same idea with the 4 different squares.

Dawn

One of Dawn's favorite things to do is create vintage looking pieces, and in this challenge she chose to do that with distressed papers, lots of lace and an old photo.

Christy

Christy just fell in love with the colors posted in this photo challenge. The soft blue-greens and tan-orange colors reminded her of the upcoming fall season. She chose to revamp a previous layout of her son's first time playing in the leaves!

And tomorrow - one more day of inspiration from our design team. More good stuff coming !
