Challenge 7 Photo Inspiration

It's Wednesday and that means another challenge here at PCS. But, before we get on to the challenge we would like to announce our Judge's Pick winner from the last 3 challenges. Our judges had to choose one winner from the People's Choice Award winners of challenges 4, 5, and 6.

The Judge's Pick is.... Carri at DoubleClick Connetions with this adorable turtle card. Carri was the winner of Challenge 5, Circles. Congratulations Carri, please send us an email so we can forward you a button to display on your blog.

Now, on to Challenge 7 our Photo Inspiration. Kristina chose this darling picture with stripes and circus animals for our inspiration this week.

Our design team has found a wide range of ideas, and we can't wait to see what yours will be. You have until Saturday, August 7, at Noon (eastern time) to get your project linked up, then the voting will begin. Even if you don't submit a project for this challenge, be sure to come back and vote for your favorite entry.

Here are our first 4 designers this week - you are sure to find something that will spark your imagination!
Jan

Jan loves black and white, and in combination with just about any color. This week's photo prompted the touch of gray, and two shades of cheerful yellow.
Regan

This week, Regan created a 12X12 layout using the colors, the lion and the repetitive pattern as her inspiration from the photo! She used chipboard and a border punch to add dimension to her page. She created a repetitive pattern by stamping an image repeatedly on card stock. Find more photos and details on her blog.

Liz

This week's photo inspiration is perfect for Liz as she loves scrapping her children. She used the colours from the photo, mainly red with a hint of green and cream, to scrap some photos of her son when he was a baby. She added a few embellishments to finish off the layout.

Caroline

Caroline said that every time she looked at the picture inspiration the stripes just kept calling out her name so she decided to mimic the stripes in the picture onto her card. This was a simple card using only 1 cricut cartridge. Yep, you guessed it, her favorite basic shape cart .... George.

Come back tomorrow for 3 more designer creations - and don't forget to stop at our forum for ideas, tutorials, the question of the day, and lots of other goodies. We want to meet you!

TGIF...does anyone else feel that way today? Wow, it has been a busy week. We sure hope you have had time to enjoy all of the DT's hard work, and that you have had time to work on your own submission for challenge 6.

We have four designers left to show you, so let's get right to it.

Steph D

Steph created the top part of the card using a Tim Holtz stamp, which she stamped a couple times to create the diamond design background. The card turned into a French boutique theme with the yellow satin ribbon, Prima lace, and pearl trims...oooh la la!

Stephanie A.

Stephanie used soft shades of yellow to create a pretty feminine card. Using a color blocking technique, Stephanie added pattern papers to card stock before mounting on her card. A little bit of bling in the right corner adds nice dimension to her card.

Suzy

Suzy made an elegant wedding card using an easel card fold. She used the birdcage cut from the Serenade cricut cartridge to hang from the bow. The "Lovebirds"sentiment was printed on her computer and popped up to display the card.

Tracy

For this weeks sketch challenge, Tracy decided to give her card a little bit of a nature theme. She created her card using some beautiful October Afternoon designer paper and added a special touch of some little handmade dryer sheet butterflies to flutter by the stamped flower image.

There you have it, the last four designers. We think the Design Team did a fabulous job with this sketch, and we know you can to. Be sure to get your project linked up by Noon (eastern time) tomorrow.

Thank you for joining us here at Papercraft Star!

Challenge #6 - Thursday Inspiration

(Click HERE to link up your project)

We have three more designers lined up for you today to show you what can be done with the sketch for challenge #6.
If you missed it, here is the sketch again,

Now, on to our designers....

Catherine

This sketch gave Catherine the perfect opportunity to create a card for her sister-in-law's baby shower! She is so excited to become an aunt for the first time on her side of the family! They are having a baby girl, Molly Reese, and she is going to be here in late August!

Christy

A card from Christy today displaying the sketch demonstrated in Challenge #6.  Using all Jillibean Soup products, Christy put together a "Thank-You" card for her collection.  With a new baby in the house it seems there can never be too many of these in her go-to card stash!

Dawn

Dawn used lots of textured papers with this challenge. By sticking with more earthy tones, and distressed paper this card has a wonderful vintage look, while still being masculine.

Remember, you have until Saturday Noon (eastern time) to get your project linked up before the voting begins. Come back tomorrow and see what our last four designers did with this sketch.
