So make sure you start here at Papercraft Star on Friday for the big Christmas in July Blog Hop!

Okay...now back to this week's challenge!  Here are the projects to inspire you direct from our very own Designers here at Papercraft Star.... Challenge Number 5 - Circles...

Jan

Circle card, circle sentiment, and circle swirly all compliment Jan's circle paper and paper piercing. Jan used her beloved SCAL software for all her cutting.  Visit Jan at her blog to see more of her creations or visit us at the Papercraft Star Forum (link is in the sidebar at top left) to read learn more about SCAL software from Jan herself!

Liz

Circles, circles everywhere! For this week's 'circle' challenge Liz used lots of circles for her layout. She chose patterned paper that had circles and used various sized plates to trace her circles and then cut them out. She layered her circles using foam tape for extra dimension. For her title and journaling Liz used dimensional magic. Check out her blog for some close up shots.

Caroline

This week Caroline made a simple shaker box card using circles for the gumballs. This card could be used for a kid's birthday. All the information on how Caroline made this fun shaker card can be found on her blog.

Lotsa Winners at Papercraft Star...

This week for the Sports Team inspired Challenge 4 People's Choice Award it is a tie between two great projects!  Janis with this cute South Carolina Gamecocks inspired card.

and Deb with her darling New York Giants inspired card.

Congratulations to both Deb and Janis and thank you to everyone who participated in last week's Sports Team Inspired Challenge.

We also had a tie between 5 of our Design Team's projects for this past challenge as well. Congratulations to all of them!  Since so many of our talented team members tied, we won't be awarding a Designer People's Choice Award this week.

However, this week is also the Judge's Papercraft Star Award.  Kristina and Beth, Judges of Papercraft Star have reviewed the projects that have won the People's Choice Award for the first three challenges. (As you may recall, every three weeks the Judges will choose a Papercraft Star from the previous three challenge People's Choice Award Winners!).

The Judges have spoken.... Runners up for the Papercraft Star Award are...

Challenge 1 Winner Vicki with her Indy Layout.

and Challenge Winner 3 April with this great layout...

And our first Papercraft Star Winner is Abby with this amazing layout, An American Boy...

Join us in Congratulating Abby.  She will receive the Judge's Papercraft Star Award for her Blog for her selection as our first ever Papercraft Star!  (Abby...send us your email address so we can send you your new Papercraft Star Blog Button!) Her layout will also be linked on our sidebar here at Papercraft Star...immortalized forever as a Papercraft Star! :-)

Now don't forget to come back tomorrow as we roll out Challenge #5 here at Papercraft Star!

Challenge 4 - Voting In Progress!

Who is your favorite sports team? How could your team inspire you? Their colors, the mascot, their name, the home city... use any or all of these concepts to make a card, layout, or project inspired by your favorite team.

You have until Saturday July 17, at 12 noon to enter your sports inspired project and after that, the voting begins! Until then, we'll have a Stadium full of inspirational projects made just for you by the talented Papercraft Star Design Team. We'll post those projects today, Thursday and Friday so be sure to come back often to see what our Team has created to inspire you for this Sports Team Challenge!

Jan

Any Oregon golf team, whether the sun is rising or setting, is Jan's inspiration for this 10 minute card. Clip art printed on the background, and a SCAL file to cut the trees made it quick and simple!

Liz

For this week's challenge Liz used her favourite Aussie Football team 'Port Power' as her inspiration. She used their theme song to inspire her son to never give in. The words to the theme song can be found at her blog. She made some pinwheels to embellish her page. Liz also used rubons, ribbon, buttons, die cuts, stickers, felt alphas and staples.

Caroline

This challenge took a lot of thinking for Caroline. Neither Caroline or her husband are into sports. So what is one to do about that? Well, what do they like to do? They both love the outdoors. Living in Sunny South Florida being outside isn't a problem. So that got her thinking ... then it hit her ... Water sports. Caroline loves to be on the water. So that was the inspiration for this fun little card.

Friday Inspiration - Challenge 4

(click HERE to enter your project)

It's Friday, that means we have 4 more fabulous projects from our Designers to inspire you to create a project for this challenge.

Isn't it great to see so many different creations come out of a challenge!
Well, let's get on to that inspiration...

Tracy

For this weeks sports challenge Tracy chose to make a banner in honor of her local Superbowl XLIV champions. She thinks if there was ever a team that symbolized perseverance, it's the New Orleans Saints. She cut all the components of this banner with her Cricut. She also used some acrylic paint, Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, and some black and gold ribbon to match.

Steph

Being from Hawaii, Steph's favorite sports teams are the University of Hawaii at Manoa's sports teams. She used to watch the Rainbow Wahine Volleyball team a lot in high school and college. She wanted to make a card with a volleyball, but didn't have that die cut so she used the basketball instead ;p'.

Suzy

Suzy made a birthday card for her brother, who is a Dallas Cowboy fan :) She used her circut to make cut the stars, 2 different sizes in navy and one in white - then layered to make the logo.

Stephanie

In New York there are several major league teams. One of those teams (the New York Islanders) is located on Long Island and they play at the Nassau Coliseum. Stephanie chose to create a card based on the home jerseys the team uses - blue and orange!!!

Well, there you have it. Over the last 3 days you have seen 11 FANTASTIC projects by our designers. So, what are you waiting for....get crafting!!

Remember, you only have until 12 Noon on Saturday to get your project linked up. After that, the voting begins...don't forget to come back and vote for your favorite!

Thursday Inspiration - Challenge 4

(click HERE to enter your project)

Welcome back to Papercraft Star! We sure hope you are all working hard on your project for this Super Fun challenge.

Take a look at what some of our Designers came up with for this challenge to help inspire you and get you running to your craft area.

Catherine

Catherine coached the varsity volleyball team for the high school she teaches at. This challenge gave her the perfect chance to create a layout using her team photo from last season. Her local scrapbook store had special papers for her school's sports and their colors! She used a banner to incorporate the school's mascot!

Christy

Ever since Christy can remember her family has been big Minnesota Twins fans!  She has fond memories of the now retired Metrodome and got to say "goodbye" one last time when she brought her son to his first Twins games last August.  Her layout was inspired by the team's name, the Twins!  It just so happens to be that her sister is expecting, yep you guessed it, TWINS!  After a long battle with infertility their family is soon going to double and they couldn't be more excited!

Regan

Regan used this weeks Sports Team Challenge to create a banner for her favorite college basketball team! She used the Tim Holtz Baroque Sizzix die along with her coluzzle to create the banner. By using her team's school colors, team chant and mascot, she was able to show her team spirit!
Rock Chalk Jayhawk GO KU!!!

Dawn

Dawn chose the Seattle Seahawks as the team to base her challenge layout on. Using lots of the team's colors (blues & greens) she added photos of her and her husband at the game, along with shots of other family members and the players during the game.

Be sure to come back tomorrow and see the remaining Design Team member's projects. You won't want to miss it!! Don't forget, you only have until Saturday at 12 Noon to get your project linked up before the voting begins.
