Thursday Inspiration

We're happy you could join us today to see more of our talented Design Team's work.  Today's Designer's all chose to create scrapbook layouts for their interpretation of our sketch.  However, this doesn't mean that you have to create a scrapbook layout as well, feel free to create any paper project your heart desires that our sketch inspires you to create!

Don't forget that you have until Saturday at noon to enter your project using In Linkz.  After 12 noon, the voting for the People's Choice Award for Challenge 3 begins... so don't forget to come back between Saturday and Tuesday to cast your vote!

Tomorrow we'll have some more inspiring Design Team creations for you to see and until then, get crafting!

Christy

Christy captured the excitement of her son's trip to the zoo in her layout for Challenge #3. He is an absolute animal nut and at 2 years old his excitement for life is captivating! She flipped the sketch left to right and used bright papers to capture the memories. The white matting behind her pictures just makes them pop!

Regan

Regan used the sketch challenge to create a 12X12 layout. To add dimension to the sketch's blocked effect she used 2 sets of mats for her photos and one smaller mat in a different color for her embellishments. She used heat embossing and dimensional embellishments to add texture and interest to the layout. For more information on this layout please visit her blog.

Catherine

Catherine took this sketch and and switched a few things about the sketch, mainly the title. She really enjoyed working on this project, and creating different embellishments for the squares without photos. Check out her blog for all details, the paper she used is one of the new My Mind's Eye collections!

Dawn

Dawn used recent photos, that could be trimmed into smaller portions to make this eye-appealing layout. She chose photos that had various focal points, to keep with one theme and show all of the details of the day. It was made to fit in an 8X8 scrapbook, or layered (as shown here with a green mat) to fit in a 12X12 book.

Now for Wednesday's Designer Inspiration:

Caroline

This week the designer's were given Red, White, and Blue for their challenge. Well with July 4th right around the corner how could you not do something representing that great summer holiday. Caroline made a simple but lovely "Happy 4th" card. She added some interest to the card by scoring the card base to represent the flag using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard.

Liz

Although they do not celebrate the 4th of July in Australia that does not mean red, white and blue, and stars and stripes cannot be used for other topics. Liz has used this week's challenge to create a layout featuring her son and the colours red, white and blue. She has put the emphasis on stars and added some striped paper, buttons and ribbons to complete this layout.

Jan

A vintage Fourth of July is brought to mind by Jan with this card that features old-time paper and the image of a by-gone era.

Be sure to enter your project link below and come back tomorrow for some more Designer inspiration pieces!

Friday Inspiration

Last but certainly not least our final Designer inspiration projects for Challenge 2!

Stephanie A.

There is nothing like a flag related theme when you are given the colors red, white and blue to work with. Happily Stephanie found some flag papers in her stash and added this wonderful stamp for the perfect finishing touch to her patriotic card.

Suzy

Break out the hamburgers and hot dogs! Suzy made an invitation for a family together over the 4th of July. She embossed the BBQ with red ZING powder. The remaining text and image were stamped with charcoal black. Stamps by We R Memory Keepers "Old Glory" line.

Tracy

For this week's 4th of July--red, white, and blue--Americana challenge, Tracy made a wall hanging using some sticky backed canvas, a patriotic vintage Uncle Sam image, and her Cricut.

Steph D.

Steph used reds, creamy whites, and blues to create a vintage Americana card that celebrates the 4th of July.

With all the fabulous inspiration Papercraft Star Designers have cooked up for you over the past three days, we hope you'll find your mojo and participate in Challenge 2.  Enter your projects by Saturday at noon (Eastern Time) by scrolling down to Wednesday's post and entering your Red, White, Blue and/or Americana creations today!
